Celebrating the Life of Alice Atieno Ondieki (Nyarsakwa)

It is with deep sorrow yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the sunset of Alice Atieno Ondieki (fondly known as Nyarsakwa), who passed away in 2026. Alice was a remarkable woman whose warmth, faith, and entrepreneurial spirit touched countless hearts.

Birth and Early Life

Alice was born on October 7, 1974, in Bondo, Siaya County. She was the cherished daughter of Patrick Oyieko and the late Jane Adhiambo Oyieko, and stepdaughter of Jacinta Akoth Oyieko. She grew up in a loving household alongside her siblings: the late Martin Sikuku, Stephen Oyieko, the late David Oduor, Maureen Odhiambo, William Ochieng, Beryl Adhiambo, Jack Okoth, Josephine Oyieko, Kennedy Ochieng, Ken Odhiambo, among others.

Education and Career

Alice began her academic journey at Migosi Primary School before proceeding to Nyakach Girls Secondary School, where she successfully completed her secondary education. Driven and industrious, Alice began her professional career at KARI Kisumu. She later transitioned into business, successfully establishing herself in Kisii, where her resilience and entrepreneurial dedication served as an inspiration to many.

Marriage and Family

In 1996, Alice was united in holy matrimony to David Mogeni Ondieki. Together, they were blessed with four wonderful children: Derrick Mogeni, Tonny Rasugu, Judith Singita (Detective), and Lucky Fidel. She was also a loving co-wife to Jackline Nyakerario and deeply embraced her role as a stepmother to Esther, John, Doreen, and Vanet, believing that family extended far beyond bloodlines. Alice was a treasured sister-in-law to Robinson, Sarah, the late Andrew, Aristaricus, Mecha, Sibia, Grace, Isabella, Ziborah, Joyce, Mellen, Chris, and Roselyne. She was a beloved aunt and grandmother who leaves behind a beautiful legacy of generosity and guidance.

Final Rest

A faithful Christian, a devoted mother, a caring sister, and a trusted friend, Alice fought the good fight, finished her race, and kept the faith.
