Andrew Kiprotich Arap Kirui (1936 – 2026)

It is with profound sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Andrew Kiprotich Arap Kirui, a respected surveyor, community pillar, and devoted family patriarch. Mzee Kirui peacefully went to be with the Lord on August 7, 2026, at the age of 90, surrounded by his loving family. Born in 1936 in Chebagal Village, Rungut, Kericho County, he lived a long, fulfilled life marked by integrity, hard work, and dedicated service to his community.

Early Life & Professional Career

Andrew began his education at Litein Primary School and Kabianga Intermediate School before attending Kapsabet Secondary School. He pursued professional qualifications in Land Surveying, Architectural Design, and Public Health, completing further studies at Birmingham State University. He had a distinguished professional career, working with the Survey of Kenya, James Finlay, Kipsigis County Council, and undertaking private contracts with Unilever.

Family & Legacy

Mzee Kirui settled in Kapsimotwet Village in 1965, laying the foundation that would serve generations of his family. He was married to the late Esther Kirui and Rael Kirui. He was a proud father to Charles, Jane, Mary, Sally, Peter, Lillian, Margaret, Daisy, Michael, John, Mercy, Benard, Arnold, Winny, Robert, and Maureen, as well as a cherished father-in-law, grandfather, and great-grandfather to many.

Funeral & Service Details

The funeral service and final interment were held on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at his home in Kapsimotwet Village, Kericho County.
