Obituaries

It is with deep sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Esther Teresa Nyabonyi Omwega, who went to be with the Lord peacefully on July 9, 2026.

Born in 1930 in Bomboni Village, Kenyenya Sub-County, Kisii County, late Esther was the beloved first-born daughter of the late Mogoi Mogoi and the late Moraa.

Life & Legacy

Esther was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of St. Alexander Riogucha Centre. She was a hardworking mother, dedicated farmer, and pillar of resilience who spent her life tirelessly providing for her family and community.

In 1952, she was united in holy matrimony with the late Josephat Omwega Oguocha. Together, they were blessed with ten children:

• Peris Kinanga Omwega
• Grace Nyambeki
• Late Bernard Nyangares
• Late Onsoti Omwega
• Kennedy Nyabuti Nyandoro Omwega
• Marycella Ruth Omwega
• Late Biyaki Omwega
• John Mogoi Omwega
• Jack Nyansarora Omwega

She was a loving sister to Onyinkwa Mogoi, Hellen Mogoi, and Florence Mogoi. Her legacy lives on through her 31 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren spread across Kenya and globally, including Dubai, USA, Poland, and Tanzania.

Funeral & Memorial Details

• Procession & Viewing: Wednesday, July 22, 2026, commencing at 8:30 AM at the mortuary, followed by an arrival home at Bomboni Village and an overnight vigil.
• Funeral Mass & Burial Rite: Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the family home in Bomboni Village, Kenyenya, Kisii County.
