In Loving Memory of Fredrick Ogachi Nyagaka (1983 – 2026)

Fredrick Ogachi Nyagaka passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, in Nairobi, Kenya, after a bravely fought illness. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, reliable colleague, and dedicated community member whose warmth and guidance touched many lives.

Early Life and Education

Born in Kisii County, Fredrick was the beloved son of Joseph Nyagaka and Mama Pauline Nyagaka. He spent his early childhood in Kisii before undergoing his initiation into adulthood according to Kisii customs in 1989.

Fredrick began his primary education at Kiongeti Primary School and Kaimosi Primary School (KCPE, 1998). He went on to excel at Cardinal Otunga High School, completing his KCSE in 2002. Pursuing higher education, he travelled to India, where he earned a Master’s degree in Finance and Marketing (2008). Later, he expanded his professional qualifications through advanced technical training in CPA at JKUAT.

Marriage and Family

In 2008, Fredrick married his beloved wife, Damaris Ong’era. Together, they built a loving home and were blessed with two wonderful children: Janelle Mosigisa and Zack Nyagaka. Fred was a steadfast pillar of strength for his family, guiding them with wisdom, humor, and unconditional love. He is also remembered fondly by his siblings Nancy, Charles, Jackie, Dr. Caren, and Bernard.

Career & Legacy

Professionally, Fredrick contributed significantly as a finance specialist. He served faithfully as a junior accountant at Daniel and Thomas Associates in Nairobi, and later joined the Department of Revenue / Department of Environment in Kisii County Government. Known for his sharp analytical mind, strong work ethic, and infectious positivity, he earned deep respect among his colleagues and peers.

Fredrick’s legacy of kindness, integrity, and devotion to family and community will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

The final rites and celebration of his life took place through a series of dedicated services:

  • Procession: Held on Thursday, 16th July 2026, starting from the KTRH Morgue with community services before departing for home
  • Funeral Service & Burial: Conducted on Friday, 17th July 2026, where family, relatives, neighbors, and friends gathered to pay their final respects.
