Celebrating the Life of Isaiah Omondi Oguda (Xavier)
It is with heavy hearts but profound gratitude that we announce the passing of Isaiah Omondi Oguda, affectionately known as Xavier, who went to rest on March 27, 2026, at the age of 39. Isaiah was a brilliant engineer, a dedicated educator, and a pillar of his community.
Early Life and Academic Excellence
Born in 1987 to retired principals Tom Oguda Nyokendo and Susan Adhiambo Oguda, Isaiah’s journey was marked by a relentless pursuit of knowledge. He attended Ageng’a Primary School and Sori Lakeside Junior Academy before completing his KCPE at Mariwa Primary School. He later joined the prestigious Kanga High School for his secondary education.
Isaiah’s passion for technical innovation led him to Moi University (Chepkoilel Campus), where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Building and Construction. His academic brilliance eventually took him to the Technical University of Munich (Germany), where he completed his Master’s Degree—a testament to his global vision and dedication to engineering excellence.
A Career of Impact and Mentorship
Isaiah was a transformative figure in Kenya’s technical education sector. After serving in various Board of Management (BOM) positions at Homabay Boys, Bande Girls, and Sakuri Girls, he was posted by the Public Service Commission to Ekerubo Gietai Technical Training College.
At Ekerubo, he rose to become the Head of Department (Building and Construction). He was instrumental in fostering partnerships with international organizations like GIZ and was known for mentoring students in robotics and salsa dance, proving that his talents knew no bounds.
Family and Legacy
Beyond his professional accolades, Isaiah was a devoted family man. He was the loving husband to Judith Auma and a doting father to his children, Gift Ryan and Blessing Florencia. He remains a cherished brother to Ben, Becky, Ivy, Diana Rose, Shadrack, and Meshack.
Isaiah’s life was defined by his curiosity, his love for music (as a school DJ and talented pianist), and his unwavering resilience. Though his life was cut short following a brave battle with health challenges, his legacy lives on in the many students he inspired and the structures he helped build.
