Celebrating the Life of Elder Jeremiah Ayienda (1966 – 2026)

It is with deep sorrow yet gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Elder Jeremiah Ayienda, who peacefully went to be with the Lord on May 17, 2026, at 3:25 a.m. after a brave battle with illness. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a respected pillar of his community.

Birth and Early Life

Elder Jeremiah Ayienda was born in 1966 at Bogetagonka Village, Nyabera Sub-location, Otendo Location, to the late Ayienda Ouko and Jesina Kabeka. In 1974, he was initiated into adulthood in strict accordance with Kisii customs and traditions. He attended Mariwa Primary School, where he successfully completed his primary education.

Employment and Ministry

A hardworking farmer and a deeply devoted servant of God, Elder Jeremiah committed his life to serving both his family and the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church community. His leadership, humility, and faith left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered in the church and the broader ministry.

Marriage, Family, and Relations

In 1989, Jeremiah married the late Jane Moragwa Nyangweso in a colorful wedding ceremony. Their union was blessed with five children: Lydiah, Elisha, Marcella, Naomi, and Deborah. Following the passing of Jane, he found companionship again and married Orpha Nyakerario Mokua in 2021, building a shared life founded on deep faith. He was a proud grandfather to Robinson, Davies, Alpha, Mary, Esther, Shyroles, Sifa, and Ayienda Junior.

Funeral Arrangements

The funeral service and celebration of life for Elder Jeremiah Ayienda took place on Friday, 12th June 2026.

Funeral Arena: Maroo Green Stadium (Commencing at 8:00 AM)

Procession & Committal: Procession to the graveside began at 2:00 PM, followed by the lowering of the casket and final benediction at 3:00 PM.
