𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐉𝐨𝐞𝐥 𝐁𝐰𝐨𝐠𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐨𝐛𝐞 (𝐌𝐝𝐨𝐬𝐢) | 𝟐𝟎𝟎𝟕–𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

𝐀 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐓𝐨𝐨 𝐒𝐨𝐨𝐧.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Joel Bwoge Maobe, affectionately known by many as “Mdosi.” Joel transitioned on March 20, 2026, following a tragic road accident along the Iyabe-Kerina Highway. He was a young man full of life, ambition, and a contagious smile that touched everyone he met.

𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Born on January 26, 2007, in Kisii Bonyando and raised in Mesisita, Kisii South, Joel was the beloved son of Tom Maobe and Peninah Nyambeki Maobe. His educational journey was marked by diligence and success:
Nyasata Academy: Foundational pre-school years.
Eagles Suneka Academy: Lower primary education.

St. Christina Elite & Nyamaya Primary: Completed his primary cycle with his KCPE in 2021.
Itierio Boys High School: Completed his KCSE in 2025 with strong results.

At the time of his passing, Joel was eagerly preparing to join college for the September 2026 intake, looking forward to a bright future.

𝐀 𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡.

Joel was a devoted member of the Mesisita Central SDA Church. He is remembered by his siblings—Shem, Ascah, Serah, and Rosemary—as a pillar of strength, a caring brother, and a partner in joy. To his parents, he was a “right hand” and a source of immense pride.

Monday, April 6, 2026: Procession from KTRH Funeral Parlour to his home in Mesisita for body viewing and a church service.

• Tuesday, April 7, 2026: Final funeral service at Mesisita Market, followed by interment at the family gravesite.
