In Loving Memory of Joseph Nyabera Monayo (1955 – 2026)

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Mr. Joseph Nyabera Monayo, who was called to glory on July 17, 2026, at the age of 71.

Born in 1955 in Bombure Village, Joseph was a cherished husband, devoted father, grandfather, brother, relative, and a highly respected member of his community. He was the son of the late Augustine Monayo and Susana Kemunto Gechemba.

Early Life & Faith

Joseph spent his formative years in Bombure, receiving his baptism in August 1956 at Nyabururu Catholic Church. He attended Riamonting’a Primary School starting in 1968, laying a strong foundation of discipline, hard work, and humility that guided him throughout his entire life.

Career & Service

In 1975, Joseph trained as a mechanic and driver—a profession he dedicated himself to with exceptional skill and integrity. Over the years, he served faithfully across many parts of Kenya including Awendo, Nakuru, Molo, Eldoret, Nairobi, Kericho, and Kisii, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and employers alike.

Family & Legacy

In 1976, Joseph married the love of his life, Florence Nyanchera, later solemnizing their union at a Catholic Church wedding in 2016. Together, they were blessed with seven children: Anastancia Kemunto, the late Benard Nyanamba, Evans Nyatundo, Priscah Mogotu, Beatrice Moraa, Janet Kerubo, and Wilfred Monayo. He was also a proud grandfather to fourteen grandchildren.

Funeral & Interment Details

• Overnight Vigil: Thursday, July 30, 2026, following departure from KTRH and Mass at Ngeri Catholic Church.
• Funeral Service & Burial: Friday, July 31, 2026, held at Riamonting’a Primary School grounds, followed by Holy Mass and interment at his family home in Erongori.
