In Loving Memory of Loice (Techook) Chepkirui (Chemuge) Kamoing (1935 – 2026)

We announce the passing of Mama Loice (Techook) Chepkirui (Chemuge) Kamoing, who went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the age of 91. She was a matriarch, a devout prayer warrior, and a pillar of strength across her family and community.

Early Life & Education

Born in 1935 in Kamugeno Village to the late Korgoren Maina (Kiptiony) and the late Tapranye Maina (Obot Ibilo), Mama Loice grew up anchored in values of hard work, humility, and faith.

Marriage & Family

On October 22, 1954, she married Thomas Kamoing. Together, they built a family rooted in unity and discipline. She was mother to Philip, Ezekiel, Alice, Joseph, the late Mathew, the late Johana, Leah, Richard, Edna, Mary, Paul, Anna, Linner, Linner II, Cosmas, Wesley, Rose, Flora, Sammy, Paul II, Weldon, Zeddy, Evanson, Marion, Wesley II, Collins, and Juanitor. She also mentored Rebecca and Regina Kamoing as co-wives.

Mama Loice embraced 16 daughters-in-law and was a grandmother to 104 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Christian Faith & Community Leadership

Mama Loice gave her life to Christ in 1963 and was baptized in 1967 at Manga SDA Church by Pastor Getange. She served as a deaconess and contributed to establishing Kamegunyet SDA Church and Kapsiongo SDA Church. Beyond the church, she served as a trusted group treasurer and community advisor.

Funeral & Interment Details

• Funeral Service & Burial: Tuesday, July 28, 2026.
• Progression: Body viewing and procession led by the Pathfinders/Church Brigade, followed by church service, tributes, and graveside interment.
