Eulogy of Mama Mary Kwamboka Omwancha (1930 – 2026)

Early Life & Background

Mama Mary Kwamboka Omwancha was born in 1930 in Bombure Village to the late Sianyo Omambia and Moraa Sianyo. She grew up alongside her siblings: the late Masanga, the late Bochere, the late Nyaruri, Obuya, Barongo, and Martin. From her youth, she demonstrated resilience, determination, and a deep commitment to serving those around her.

Marriage & Family

In 1953, Mary was united in holy matrimony with Alfaeli Omwancha Monyenye in a Catholic ceremony at Kaplong. Together, they built a home grounded in faith, hard work, and family devotion. She was a loving mother to eight children: the late Teresia Onchoke, the late Andrew Monyenye, Patrick Nyamira, Zacharia Biyogo, Mark Ondigi, Annah Bironga, Josephat Nyamao, and Gladys Osebe. Her legacy lives on through her children, 56 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren.

Community, Enterprise & Faith

A matriarch of steady faith, Mary embraced Christianity and was baptized into the Catholic Church in 1953 at Kaplong Kapitini. She served as a respected committee member at Riamontinga Primary School and ran a successful farming enterprise, supplying fresh produce to Itierio High School.

Services & Final Rights

The funeral service and interment took place at the family home in Boiyeki Village, Riana Sub-County.

She fought the good fight, finished her race, and has entered into eternal rest. May her soul rest in everlasting peace.
