Celebrating the Life of Mzee Paul Orandi Muma
It is with deep sorrow yet gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Mzee Paul Orandi Muma, who rested peacefully on May 27th, 2026, at the age of 87.
Early Life and Journey of Faith
Mzee Paul Orandi Muma was born in 1938 in the peaceful village of Bomatara to his late parents, Nicholas Muma and Margaret Kemunto. He was a loving brother to the late Salome Nyanchoka Nyakundi, the late Peter Nyakundi (Nyabita), and the late Mary Kerubo Ong’ondi. At a very early age, he was baptized at Nyabururu Church, embarking on a lifelong journey of faith and demonstrating a profound commitment to his beliefs.
Education and Service
Paul attended St. Joseph Nyabururu School, where he later pursued a course in carpentry upon completing his KAPE. His technical skill and dedication led to long-term employment at Nyabururu Girls High School, where he worked diligently and served the community until his retirement in 1993.
Family and Legacy
Mzee Paul Orandi was a devoted husband to the late Salome Moraa and Pacificah Kemunto. Together, they built a beautiful family anchored in love, mutual support, and Christian values. He was blessed with a large, vibrant family, including many wonderful children: Margaret, Perpetua, the late Kennedy, Evaline, Pacificah, Beatrice, Gladys, the late Edgar, Maureen, Irene, Liza, the late Asenath, the late Robin, Janet, Beth, Suzzy, Terry, Tom, Mike, and Noela. His legacy continues to bloom through his 75 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Final Days
Mzee Orandi enjoyed good health for most of his life until facing health challenges later in years. He battled illness with incredible strength, resilience, and courage. On May 10, 2026, he was admitted to Bosongo Hospital, where, despite the valiant efforts of the medical team and the love of his family, he peacefully closed his eyes on May 27th, 2026. He will forever be remembered as a loving father, friend, mentor, and a guiding light to all who knew him.
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?” — John 14:1-2
