Pauline Akero Oindo (1924–2026)

Celebrating 103 Years of Grace and a Life Well Lived.

It is with deep sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Pauline Akero Oindo (née Nyaosi), who transitioned peacefully on April 13, 2026, at Bosongo Hospital. At 103 years old, Pauline was a cherished matriarch, a devoted church leader, and a pillar of the Boikanga community in Kisii County.

Early Life and Family.

Born in 1924 in Nyakorere village to the late Nyaosi Marisa and Moraa Nyaosi, Pauline was a woman of unwavering faith and diligent work. In 1950, she married the late Nickson Oindo Maobe in Nyataro village, Boikanga. Together, they built a legacy of love, raising nine children: Meshack, Eunice, Isaiah, Tabitha, Ebisiba, Susan, John, Esther, and Elder Japhet. Her legacy extends through 40 grandchildren and 71 great-grandchildren.

A Life of Service and Virtue.

Pauline was a dedicated peasant farmer and a respected deaconess in her church. Known for her wisdom and focus on family unity, she served as a “uniting pillar,” fostering togetherness and fairness among all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the virtues of love and harmonious collaboration.

Funeral Arrangements.

The farewell ceremonies for Pauline Akero Oindo were conducted as follows:

30/04/2026: Procession from Hema Hospital, followed by body viewing and a night vigil of prayers and worship at her home.

01/05/2026: Burial ceremony featuring tributes from family and friends, a sermon, and the final interment at the family graveside.
