Mama Peris Mokeira Nyandwaro (1940 – 2026)

It is with deep sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Mama Peris Mokeira Nyandwaro, a beloved matriarch, dedicated farmer, and woman of profound faith. Mama Peris went to be with the Lord on August 4, 2026, at the age of 86. Born in 1940 in Ekemuga Village, Amabuko Sub-location, Kisii County, she led a life defined by devotion to her family, hard work, and spiritual strength.

Early Life & Family Legacy

Mama Peris was the daughter of the late Mzee Samuel Arasa and the late Mama Esther Kerubo Arasa, and stepdaughter of the late Mama Sabina Obonyo Arasa. In 1957, she was united in marriage to the late Mzee Nyandwaro Momanyi. Together, they built a strong foundation grounded in unity and faith.

She was a loving mother to Kofi, Nyaboke Andae, Gekonge, the late Kennedy, Eunice, Nixon, the late Mogambi, Dolyvine Martha, Jefferson Nyandwaro, the late Walter, and Isabella. She was also a mother figure to her stepchildren, a supportive mother-in-law, grandmother to 28 grandchildren, and great-grandmother to 9 great-grandchildren.

Career & Faith

A hardworking farmer and homemaker, Mama Peris tilled her land with dedication to provide for her family, growing tea, pyrethrum, beans, and maize. She was a faithful member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (Amabuko North SDA), where she actively nurtured her family in Christian values.

Interment Details

The funeral service and final interment took place on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at her home in Menyenche Village, Bocharia Sub-location, Masaba North.
