Obituary For Rebeccah M. Ndemo Mboga

In Loving Memory of Rebeccah M. Ndemo Mboga (1925 – 2026)

Rebeccah M. Ndemo Mboga, a cherished matriarch, dedicated farmer, and pillar of the Kisii community, passed away on April 1, 2026, at the age of 101. Born in 1925 in Kenyoru, Marani Division, she was the daughter of the late Mama Esther Nyanganyi and the late Kibagendi.

Life and Legacy: Rebeccah was a woman of profound faith and hard work. A lifelong member of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church, she served faithfully at the Nyanchwa, Nyaiguta, Nyaiya Bonyunyu, and Nyamare SDA churches. Professionally, she was a respected farmer in the region, known for her dedication to cultivating coffee, bananas, and tea.

She was the sister of several prominent Kenyan figures, including the late Hon. Lawrence Sagini Ndemo, Prof. Francis Ndemo, and Prof. Bitange Ndemo. In 1944, she married the late David Mboga Sato, beginning a family legacy that now includes 11 children, 56 grandchildren, 138 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Arrangements: Funeral services were conducted in Geteri Village.

  • Body Viewing: Held Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Christamarianne Funeral Home and her home in Geteri.
  • Funeral Service & Burial: Friday, April 24, 2026, at her residence in Geteri Village.

Rebeccah will be remembered as a beacon of strength and wisdom. She is survived by her large extended family and all those whose lives she touched with her unconditional love.
