Obituary of the Late Mzee Robinson Mochama Gwachi (1960 – 2026)
It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that Executive Funerals announces the peaceful transition of Mzee Robinson Mochama Gwachi, a dedicated public servant, cherished community leader, and a devoted family man. Robinson fell ill on May 21st, 2026, and peacefully went to rest with the Lord on May 23rd, 2026, while receiving treatment at Mediforte Hospital in Kisii.
Early Life, Education, and Faith
Born in 1960 in Bondonya Village, Nyamache Sub-County, Kisii County, Robinson was the beloved son of Mama Yunes Basweti and the late Mzee Hanson Gwachi. He was brought up in a household deeply rooted in Christian principles, nurturing a lifelong devotion to the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church. Robinson began his academic journey at Nyabete Primary School before proceeding to Kisii High School for his O-Level and Form Six education. Driven by a passion for development, he joined the Cooperative College of Kenya and later achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Metropolitan State University, USA, in 2015.
Career and Community Service
Mzee Robinson dedicated his professional life to exemplary public service under the Ministry of Cooperative Development. Through hard work, absolute integrity, and visionary leadership, he steadily rose through the ranks to become a respected District Cooperative Officer (D.C.O.). Beyond his distinguished career as a public servant, he was a passionate, hardworking farmer and an astute investor who continually left a lasting impact on his community.
Marriage and Family
Robinson was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Grace Mochama. He was a proud, loving father to Walter, Eunice, Rogers, Christine, Crispus, and Albert, and a doting grandfather to thirteen (13) cherished grandchildren. His guidance, unwavering support, and deep-seated values will continue to inspire generations within his family.
Funeral and Burial Arrangements
The final send-off and celebration of life for Mzee Robinson Mochama Gwachi was held on Friday, June 19th, 2026, at Bondonya, featuring moving choir performances, family tributes, and a sermon, before he was laid to rest at his final resting place near his family home.
