In Loving Memory of Robinson Orucho Moindi (1948 – 2026)
It is with deep sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Robinson Orucho Moindi, a dedicated educator, distinguished KTDA leader, competitive athlete, and cherished family patriarch, who went to be with the Lord on August 6, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on April 1, 1948, Robinson lived a life defined by hard work, discipline, humility, and unwavering faith.
Educational & Teaching Career
Robinson studied at Kea Primary School and Nyamagwa Secondary School before completing his teacher training at Eregi Teachers Training College. He began his teaching career in 1972 at Nyabiosi Primary School and later served at Nyakenimo Primary School, where he was widely recognized for his talent in mathematics and his passion for mentoring young minds.
Leadership at KTDA & Community Service
In 1979, Robinson joined the Kenya Tea Development Authority (KTDA) as a Director, embarking on over two decades of service across multiple factories, including Nyansiongo, Kiamokama, Kakamega, Litein, Tombe, and Kebirigo, eventually rising to Leaf Base Manager. He later served as a Director of Sanganyi Tea Factory, a board member at Gekendo Secondary School, and a tea farmers’ director representing Mwancha Village, Nyamira County.
Faith & Personal Life
Baptized in 1977, Robinson was a devoted member of Mwancha Seventh-day Adventist Church. Beyond his professional career, he was a talented long-distance runner who competed at both local and national levels.
Robinson was the loving husband of Peris Orucho and a devoted father to Rael, Tom, Salome, Miriam, Enoch, and Lydia. He was a cherished father-in-law, grandfather, and valued mentor to many.
Interment Details
The funeral service and final interment took place on Friday, August 21, 2026, following a service at Mwancha Primary School, before he was laid to rest at his home in Mwancha Village, Nyamira County.
