In Loving Memory of Mama Sabinah Kemunto Ayieko

It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Mama Sabinah Kemunto Ayieko, born in 1931 in Morambo village, Keboye Sub-location, Bomariba Location, Kisii County. She rested peacefully on July 27, 2026, at the age of 95 while receiving treatment at Karen Hospital, Nairobi.

Mama Sabinah was a devoted matriarch, businesswoman, and farmer at her home in Bokoma Village. A devout member of the Catholic Church, she lived an exemplary life centered on faith, prayer, and community leadership.

Family & Legacy

• Spouse: The late Mzee Patrice Ayieko Ogamba of Bokoma Village (married in 1951 at Nyabururu Parish).
• Children: The late Mary Nyamumbo, Former CAS Zachary Ogamba Ayieko, Catherine Nyambeki Momanyi, Christine Kemuma Ohuru, Cresencia Moraa Ayieko, Vincent Kenatko Ayieko, the late Tom Otieno, Beatrice Keere, and the late Evans Kashmir.
• Family Connections: Mother-in-law to the late Joseph Nyamumbo Ongwae, Naomi Ogamba, Major Rtd. Momanyi, Thomas Ohuru, Charles Mokoro, Caroline Kenatko, and Samuel Ondieki.
• Grandmother & Great-Grandmother: Beloved grandmother to 39 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 23 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Arrangements & Service Program

• Thursday, 6th August 2026:
  • 12:00 PM: Departure from Kisii Teaching & Referral Hospital Funeral Home.
  • 2:00 PM: Cortege left for Bokoma Village, Nyamwari Sub-Location, Riana Location, Bonchari Constituency, Kisii County, followed by a Requiem Mass, short speeches, and an overnight prayer vigil.
• Friday, 7th August 2026:
  • 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Arrival of mourners, opening prayers, tribute speeches, and Holy Mass.
  • 3:00 PM: Lowering of the body and final rites.

May her soul rest in eternal peace. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. Amen.
