In Loving Memory of Mama Selphine Kerubo Kerongo (1974 – 2026)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Selphine Kerubo Kerongo, who transitioned on April 26, 2026, at the age of 52 while receiving care at Bosongo Hospital. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and respected community member, Selphine’s life was a testament to hard work, faith, and grace.

Early Life and Education

Born in 1974 in Bogeka Village, Kitutu Chache South, Kisii County, Selphine was the daughter of the late Charles Ateka and Sabina Moraa. She attended Iranda and Nyanguru Primary Schools before pursuing her passion for craftsmanship at Orotuba Polytechnic, where she specialized in Fashion and Design.

A Life of Industry and Faith

Known as a talented fashionista and tailor, Selphine balanced her professional skills with a successful career in farming. She was a staunch Christian and a dedicated member of Gesabakwa P.A.G., where her faith served as a pillar for her family and friends.

Family Legacy

In 1996, she married Evans Kerongo of Mwamara Village. Together, they built a home grounded in love and the value of education. She is survived by her husband, seven children—Justus, Klycliffe, Ruth, Edwin, Faith, Venah, and Nancy—and six grandchildren.

Funeral Arrangements

A final farewell was held with an overnight vigil on May 7, 2026, followed by a church service and interment on May 8, 2026, at her home in Mwamaragia.
