In Loving Memory of Mama Sibia Osebe Onchomba

Mama Sibia Osebe Onchomba, aged 81, peacefully transitioned on April 10, 2026, at Bosongo Medical Centre. She was a devoted wife, a pillar of the Tabaka community, and a dedicated farmer whose life was defined by faith and hard work.

Early Life and Education Born in 1945 in Iringa, Bonyara, Kisii County, Sibia was the daughter of the late Nyangau Ogeto and the late Bosibori Nyangau. She began her formal education at Nyamue Primary School in 1954. Though her schooling was cut short, she spent her life gaining wisdom through her faith and rich life experiences.

A Life of Faith and Service A stalwart member of the St. Maurice Catholic Centre Choir and the Catholic Women Association (CWA), Sibia’s devotion to the church was unwavering. She married her husband, Mr. Cosmas Onchomba, in 1965, and they celebrated their matrimonial wedding in May 2015. Professionally, she was an accomplished farmer, finding joy in agribusiness through the cultivation of coffee, maize, and bananas.

Family Legacy She was the cherished mother of Joyce, Vincent, Antoinette, Benjamin, and Benerdette, and a beloved stepmother to Edwin, Macharius, Albert, Joseph, and Mary. Her legacy lives on through her 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral Arrangements

Requiem Mass: Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Tabaka.

• Interment: Friday, May 1, 2026, at her home in Bomware, Tabaka ward, Kisii County.
