Obituary For Wilfred Mang’era Miroro Moronge
Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Mzee Wilfred Mang’era Miroro Moronge.
It is with deep sorrow yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the transition of Mzee Wilfred Mang’era Miroro Moronge, who went to rest peacefully on the early morning of Saturday, 2nd May, 2026, at Africa Inuka Hospital in Kisii. Mzee was a respected elder, a dedicated professional, and a pillar of the community in Masaba North Sub-County, Kisii County.
An Exceptional Professional and Community Leader Born in 1944 at Ibanchore Village to the late Moronge Onwong’a and the late Nyang’arisa Nyatichi, Mzee Wilfred’s life was defined by dedication and service.
He began his professional journey after graduating from the Embu Institute of Agriculture in 1970, joining the Ministry of Agriculture as an extension services officer. He was instrumental in promoting tea cultivation as a vital cash crop across the larger Kisii County through the Tea Development Department. Mzee later served with distinction at the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) from 1986 to 1989, eventually rising to the rank of depot manager at Kenya Cooperative Creameries (KCC), from which he retired in the year 2000. A Devout Christian and Family Pillar, Mzee Wilfred was baptized into the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) faith in 1959 at Gesusu and later rededicated his Christian life in 2001, joining the Matutu SDA Church. His unwavering faith guided his actions and inspired generations within his family.
He was the beloved husband of Truphena Nyanduko Bosire, whom he wedded in a traditional ceremony in 1970, followed by a solemnized marriage on 1st February, 1976. Together, they were blessed with six children—Christine, Moronge, and the late Sophie, Angeline, Edith, Ondicho, and Diana, and Bilhah.
He leaves behind a legacy as a cherished grandfather to Cayne, Lydia, Brenda, Maryanne, Melissa, Little Sophie, Ethan, Jose, Roben, Bruce, Moses, MarkGeorge, Simeon Alvin, and Rowan.
Rest in Eternal Peace Following a solemn journey that included a final rest at the mortuary and a peaceful body viewing at his home in Riamanoti Village, Mzee Wilfred Mang’era Miroro Moronge was laid to rest surrounded by family, colleagues, and the church community.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7
