In Loving Memory of Mzee William Nyang’au Sauni (1955 – 2026)

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Mzee William Nyang’au Sauni, who peacefully rested in the Lord on July 23, 2026. Born in 1955 in Nyakeburo Village, Nyaribari Chache Constituency, Kisii County, Mzee William was a devoted father, humble leader, ordained deacon, and a man of great integrity.

Early Life and Education

Mzee William was the beloved son of the late Stephen Sauni Ongori and the late Elizabeth Magoto. He began his primary education at Kenyoro Primary School (now Kianate Primary School) and Gianchere Primary School before completing his secondary education up to Form Four at Amasago Secondary School.

Career and Community Service

Throughout his working life, Mzee William served in various capacities across Kenya, starting at Rivatex in Eldoret, later serving with the Public Works Department (Rural) in Suneka, and ultimately working with Kenya Breweries in Mombasa until his retirement.

Family and Faith

In 1978, Mzee William married the love of his life, Eucabeth Buyaki. Their marriage was blessed with eight children: Rawlings Ongori, Wilder Kemunto, Samuel Stephen, Eunice Basweti, Robina Kerubo, Elizabeth Magoto, Eunice Gesare, and Delvin Monyenche. He was also a proud father-in-law, grandfather to eleven grandchildren, and a great-grandfather.

A faithful servant of God, Mzee William was baptized into the Seventh-day Adventist faith in 2015 and was ordained as a Church Deacon in 2024, serving his church community with dedication and humility.
