Mzee Zachariah Makori Maera was born in January 1946 in Bomarongo Village to the late Maera and Norah. He lived a life defined by faith, discipline, and dedication to family and community. After working at East African Printing Press and serving as a Kenya Prisons Service warden, he later settled in Nyaronge where he became a respected tea farmer and served as Chairman of the Nyaronge Tea Buying Centre. A devoted member of Nyaronge SDA Church and father of seven children, he will be remembered for his wisdom, integrity, and unwavering love for his family and community.
