It is with deep sorrow that we announce the promotion to glory of Zinet Bosibori Masankwa, who passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, while undergoing treatment at Tenwek Hospital after a courageous battle with Classic Hodgkin Lymphoma. She was a beacon of light, resilience, and unyielding faith to all who knew her.
Early Life and Education
Zinet was born on July 9, 1987, to the late Patrick Mokaya Masankwa and Mary Wanjiru Masankwa. Raised in the vibrant community of Keroka Town, she was known from childhood for her humility, determination, and infectious, warm smile.
She began her academic journey at Masaba Primary School, establishing a strong foundation before joining Metamaywa Secondary School. Driven by an ambitious vision for her future, she furthered her professional studies at the Consolata Institute in Nyeri.
Career and Professional Life
Zinet was a highly respected professional who brought dedication and integrity to her workplace. She served diligently as a staff member at APA Insurance up until her untimely demise, earning the deep appreciation of both her colleagues and clients. Beyond her corporate career, Zinet was an enterprising business lady, always striving for growth and using her success to extend a helping hand to family, friends, and community members.
Family and Relationships
Zinet cherished her family deeply. She was the beloved daughter of Mary Wanjiru and the late Patrick Mokaya; a devoted and loving sister to Lamech Nyakundi and Diana Kemunto; and a doting aunt to Emilio Patrick, Mary Atara, and Luke Kingstone. She remains fondly remembered by her large extended family, including numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends whose lives she touched profoundly.
Funeral Arrangements and Final Journey
The funeral service and burial ceremony for the late Zinet Bosibori Masankwa were held on Thursday, 4th June 2026.
Body Viewing & Procession: The cortège left Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital (KTRH) for her home in Nyandoche Ibere Village.
- Service & Interment: A Christian celebration of her life and church service took place at her family home in Nyandoche Ibere Village, followed by her burial ceremony at the family grave site.
